Here s how to turn those UFOs into IFOs -- Identified Flying Objects Let s hit the skies anytime after sunset and look west.
That bright spot is the second planet from the sun: Venus.
Notice it s steady, not twinkling.
That s how you know it s a planet!
Sometimes you look up and something is MOVING FAST, if you see blinking lights, it s probably an airplane, but if it s steady and streaky and SUPER fast - that s a meteor or shooting star!
My favorite is when I see a steady, dim light moving slowly, not twinkling -- that s a satellite.
There are thousands of them up there and if you spot one you re very lucky!
Whether it s planes, planets, satellites, or shooting stars, this short guide will help you IFO while you Keep Lookin Up!
