- "Ana y la Distancia" literally translates# .. meaning not only what separates her from# her son, but also like distance between our countries and spaces.

It's not only# about the character and what she feels, but I feel the character speaks about the whole# country.

The highlight of the production was actually working with Coralia Veloz, who's# a very well known Cuban actress.

I love her so much.

What she did, she made me cry every time# with her performance.

She's able to resonate with a motherhood Cuban exile experience in general.# She was able to capture all that in her eyes.

I didn't know you had been looking for it.

- I was never truly impressed with# Impressi.. painting with you.

You made me step closer and further, closer and further until I finally understood# that what makes something beautiful are its details.

But you know, it wasn't the painting# that made it clear for me that day.

It was you- - Tell me what you first saw in me that day.

- The lines around your eyes when# you smile.

Your crooked tooth.

Makes your smell even more beautiful.

Or your# nail polish, your favorite color of the month.

So, what's your favorite color this month?

- Sorry?

- [Milena] What's your# favorite color of the month?

- Uh, I don't know.

- How could you not know?

- I just don't.

- It's just a color.

- Because it's stupid and childish.

- Can you believe I'm an art teacher that# doesn't even know her own favorite color?

- I don't think I have one.

I like 'em all.

- I don't even know when I stopped asking# myself that question.

- I made your favorite food, and I- - Can't find my keys.

It's been a# very confusing day.

Are you okay?

- What's your favorite color?

- Moss.

- Copper.

- Impasto is an art term to talk about paint st.. a texture.

And this technique is used a lot in# Impressionism.

Impressionism plays a huge part on describing that relationship of our main character# with her wife.

What I love about Impressionism is that from afar, you get a completely different# image and experience then when you're close to the painting.

I became inspired by these questions# of like, "Wow, if I met my partner, like my, the younger version of my partner, will I still love# them?

Would I be in love?"

And then this question changing to, "Wait a second.

If I met the younger# version of myself, would I get along with it?
